Applying to be a Volunteer at Burning Seed

Thank you for expressing interest in becoming involved in the Burning Seed which is the Australian Regional Burn for the Burning Man Project.

Our community appreciates your time and skills that you're willing to give.

To process your application you will need to undertake the following:

STEP 1: Register as a member of our website.

STEP 2: Become familiar with our online community forum:

Online Forum

STEP 3: Please read the section on the 10 PRINCIPLES, which you will find in the About section of our website.

Ten Principles

STEP 4: Can you please send the following details if you plan to volunteer for Burning Seed:-

1)   Full name.
2)   Contact phone numbers.
3)   Address.
4)   Occupation.
5)   Qualifications.
6)   Skills you are happy to volunteer.
7)   Any relevant festival/event experience.
8)   Areas of interest or any passions.
9)   Any previous work on Civic projects.
10) Have you been to Black Rock City (B.R.C) in Nevada USA before? (If so, give a few details if you like)

Also, for those who have not attended a Burning Man event before that volunteering for a BURN is quite different than volunteering at a normal festival for many reasons and is very rewarding, however it does NOT get you free entry into Burning Seed 2010. Instead, it is a chance to be a Volunteer for your Community which can be a fun way to participate year round. ;-)

The sooner you CONFIRM your volunteer status, the sooner we can begin matching your areas of interest, passions etc to an area and then recruit you to that team and begin the induction process.

Some of you have been to Burning Man many times before and understand already what it's REALLY all about, while others have never been and are not really familiar with it's philosophy. (see the 10 principles on our website)

Lets just say if Burning is your passion and you genuinely want to get involved as a volunteer please make me aware of this when you send us your details and CONFIRM yourself as a volunteer. We are looking right now for genuine, dedicated volunteers for a variety of FUN and EXCITING roles, some will be year round positions (like mine) while others will be for the duration of the SEED and/or leading up to it and staying behind after for bump down … (leave no trace). Either way, this is the perfect time to get involved as a volunteer if you are already a Burner or a Burner-to-be.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Volunteers Department.

Newsflash

Burning Seed 2010 - the first Australian regional Burning Man event took place on the June long weekend from Thursday 10th June to Monday 14th June 2010.

The theme for the first official regional burn was ‘Creation’, aligning with the idea of the beginning.  Participants of this newly emerging community were active in creating the story.

The aim is to gather momentum to stage a full scale 'Australian Region' - Burning Man Event - in the Australian desert, or suitable outback region, in the not too distant future.
