In 2011 a group of Australian artists will take a large scale interactive art exhibition to the world famous Burning Man festival in Nevada, USA.

The Birthing Woman installation is a 100 metre long sculpture of a female body that will incorporate sound and light components designed and written to harmonize exactly with the human auric and spectral chakra systems, thereby allowing for an attunement and healing effect upon the body (and spirit) of those within the experiential field.

This installation will consist of large covered geodesic aluminum structures forming the profile of a reclining pregnant woman preparing to give birth as she emerges ‘through’ the surface of the Earth.

The ‘Oz Birthing Woman’ installation was conceived in the mind of Robin Cooke of the Mutoid Waste Co. and as a veteran creator of giant re-cycled metal sculptures, that both breath fire and radiate light, Robin has a long standing connection with the Indigenous Arabunna Peoples of South Australia, in whose ‘country’ he has worked for many years creating the popular ‘Mutonia’ Sculpture Park.

Newsflash

Burning Seed 2010 - the first Australian regional Burning Man event took place on the June long weekend from Thursday 10th June to Monday 14th June 2010.

The theme for the first official regional burn was ‘Creation’, aligning with the idea of the beginning.  Participants of this newly emerging community were active in creating the story.

The aim is to gather momentum to stage a full scale 'Australian Region' - Burning Man Event - in the Australian desert, or suitable outback region, in the not too distant future.
